The Responsive Eye (2009)
This poster was created to commemorate The Responsive Eye's 30 Year Anniversary Show of Optical Art at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York City. Fitting with the system and idea of optical art, this triptych poster was designed to be experienced linearly top to bottom.
It is interactive for the human/responsive eye. The viewer is directed to first stare at the top section, then project their response/stare at the middle section, then continue to the bottom (all white) section projecting their visual experience on the blank canvas. The objective is that the human eye projects the complimentary colours to which it has been looking at(top section -), mixed with the apparent visual vibrations of high contrast black and white lines (middle section), finally projected onto a white canvas at the bottom results in a visually vibrating and colourful experience.
